Here are my top tips when properly “staging” your home.
Depersonalize. A potential buy needs to picture themselves in your rooms. Removing all family photos and if necessary paint brightly coloured walls a more neutral tone.
Make sure everything is in top condition. This means replacing any crackled plaster, burnt out lights, or ripped screens. As homeowners, our eyes become adjusted to these flaws in our home, so make sure not to miss any.
A clean kitchen. Make sure to declutter the kitchen and make sure countertops are clean. The kitchen is the heart of the home and many buyers look to the kitchen as a main buying point. Put away any small appliances in the cupboards. Also, adding in new appliances make the whole kitchen look brand new and can be worth the investment.
New Linen. Many home owners, don’t think to replace linens, but this small change can leave a big impression on buyers. Upgrading to a simple and clean duvet will brighten up the entire bedroom.
Multi- use rooms. Make sure that each room only has one purpose. For example, don’t combine a spare room and office. This is a big turn off for buyers and can make the room seem small and cluttered.
